Write to my representatives?

Re: Write to my representatives?
I write to my officials all the time. I figure it this way, if you don't complain, you don't get heard. If enough people complain, the quicker a resolution or debate can occur.

How did you misinterpret my question as indicating that I've given up on making our country greater? I questioned the methods, not the ideals.

Is that too young to be jaded and to have given up on our government?

Re: Write to my representatives?
I did pose that question rhetorically, if that's what you mean by "didn't you say this?".
Do you equate frustration with government processes with "giving up"? I guess you interpretted my original post as meaning that I've given up on our country and lost all hope for change and, thus, have to "leave the country" to find happiness? A bit of a stretch, I think, but maybe I wasn't clear enough.

Now wait a minute! You said "and to have given up on our government". How else is one supposed to understand what you meant other than by what you stated? If you didn't meant you had given up on our government then maybe you should have statd that you were just frustrated by our government.

Let's stop arguing. I think we were talking about why NOT to give up, and what kind of constructive steps can be taken, here. It's really easy to miscommunicate over e-mail, and no one is as precise with their words as they would need to be to avoid any misunderstandings. Let it go, people!
