I have several issues with my car. I installed a grid charger thinking that the IMA is not charging the 12V, in doing so I discovered that the IMA fan unit is not running. I replaced the IMA fan, but it is still not running which should run with the grid charger attached. (in another thread I found the charging issue may be related to a relay I can replace)

Can anyone give me a description of the units (or detailed picture) in the IMA compartment so I can figure out what controls the fan and what to replace? Years ago I replaced the CPU with a used unit, perhaps that went bad.

I have 260K+ miles on this car and I'm not ready to give it up! If anyone has suggestions for the issue as well, I'd appreciate it. I'm mechanically able but I don't know all the jargon or abbreviations used in some of these threads, like MCM for instance, please spell it out for me.

Did you confirm you properly connected the fan controller?

 

Yes, I did take apart the connectors to verify the wires were pierced by the connectors.

 

Then you have two bad fans. The MV charger should be powering the fan independent of the car.
