Default Burning Rubber?

For the last month, I've noticed an intermittent smell simillar to burning rubber when driving my HCH II. No oil leaks, and I don't smell it when I open the hood, just intermittently in the cabin. No obvious cause can be found. The trans fluid looks clean with no discoloration or burnt smell and the car only has ~20K miles on it in a year and a half. Any ideas as to what this might be before I inadvertently burn something important up?

Have you had the DC battery cap recall looked into?

You are probably smelling the sulfur from the catalytic converter. This is a normal smell.

I had the DC cap done around 6 weeks ago. As for the air filter I haven't changed it yet. Perhaps that could be the cause? It seem to occur more at speed or acceleration.
