Bypass oil filtration system

Bypass oil filtration system
Another forum was discussing the 3,000 mile oil change myth and it brought to mind the possibility of using a bypass oil filtration system to significantly extend the life of the engine oil.
Does anybody here have any experience with installing and using a bypass oil filtration system on a HCHII? These systems can extend the oil life exponentially and are highly recommended by independent oil analysis labs (ones that don't sell the filtration systems).
I wonder what effect it would have on the oil life monitor system.

Re: Bypass oil filtration system
Synthetics are already lasting 10k+ miles on gasoline engines, why would you want to extend that any further? The only thing I have ever seen about bypass systems were on diesel engines and are factory installed on the equipment. For the price of some oil I would rather not risk my HCH's engine.

Re: Bypass oil filtration system
I guess I'm going to take a pass on one of these. I spent quite a bit of time poking and measuring under the HCHII hood and there just ain't no room to put even the smallest of these in. Hmm, I may have to see if there's room in behind the front grill fascia in front of the radiator area...
