Re: How many miles on your original HCH-II IMA battery?
The below reference rules out water cooling...
2012 Honda Civic - Powertrains
Civic Hybrid: IMA Intelligent Power Unit (IPU)
The Integrated Cooling Unit, mounted directly on the battery pack's outer box, controls the heat generated by the constant flow of electricity to and from the battery pack. Interior cabin air enters the Integrated Cooling Unit via a small vent placed on the left outboard seat bolster and is continually flowed over the battery pack and re-circulated.

Re: How many miles on your original HCH-II IMA battery?
I'm on my third IMA battery in my 2009 HCH-II. Both times replaced under warranty, just had to drive 2 hours to the closest dealer and rent a car for a few days. Oh well.
I bought the car new on November 18, 2009.
Original Battery - 0 - 18,951 mi - Manufacture to October 5, 2010 - I'll give Honda a freebie on this one since I'm thinking the car sat on the lot and wasn't driven frequently enough to keep the battery happy - 40.0 MPG
2nd Battery - 18,951 mi - 43,629 mi - October 5, 2010 - August 23, 2012 - also had the IMA system reprogrammed on January 3, 2011 (22,602 mi) - 38.4 MPG
3rd Battery - 43,629 mi - 75,175 (at last fuel up) - August 23, 2013 to date - so far no problems with this one - 38.3 MPG

Re: How many miles on your original HCH-II IMA battery?
Normal commute to work is 20 miles @ 65 mph with a 40 mph town in the middle, then about 4 miles cross town @ 30-35 mph. Flat road the whole way. Usually at least one or two trips out to Colorado each year. A few hour trips that get into small hills (Kansas). So I'd say pretty moderate conditions for the most part.

Re: How many miles on your original HCH-II IMA battery?
My commute is about 13 miles, flat, 1.5miles of highway, the rest 35-45mph surface streets. I regularly get 44-45mpg. If I try really hard, I can get into the lower 50s. When my IMA battery is recalibrating frequently, I will get mid to upper 30s. I tend to get 1 recal at the outset of each commute.
Do you get recals?
