05 HAH Navi DVD error

Re: 05 HAH Navi DVD error
Hey guys,
We've been living with this problem. The navigation system is completely useless and for the last year we've used a Garmin Nuvi. I tried to get access to those recall links again to do further research on the problem. However, the links are broken.
Any new news on this issue? Has anyone got their HAH serviced with the those service notices?
Many thanks for all your help!

Re: 05 HAH Navi DVD error
I do enjoy using the Navi system, but the Garmin c530 we use in my other vehicle works just as well and is a helluvalot cheaper to update. Plus, Garmin is offering lifetime updates for $110-$120, depending where you find it online. However, having the factory installed Navi operate properly...

Does the navigation DVD have circular scratches, scuffs, or arcs?
Yes – Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
No – Do the update procedure in Service Bulletin
07-026, Navigation Software Updates for Daylight
Saving Time (DST), DVD Read Error Message,
and Other Listed Symptoms. If the problem still
does not go away, suggest to the customer that
they replace the DVD and retest.

Re: 05 HAH Navi DVD error
Has this issue been resolved?
When I bought my 06 Ridgeline RTL-NAV in 2008, I had no problem with the original 05 disk. In the fall of 2008, I got the updated 2008 disk (not sure of the version #. . .) and started having the problems you guys are all describing. I looked into the 'scratched DVD' issue and also had the dealer tell me they would love to replace the system for lots of $$. It rendered the system eventually useless until. . .
In 2010, I took the chance of getting the 20% off Nav Disk Sale from Honda, and POOF! the problem is gone. My system works better than ever now. I think they had major problems with the 2008 update disk, and from the sound of you guys y'all had the same problems. . .
Might be worth a shot.

Re: 05 HAH Navi DVD error
So what's the latest disc, and what color is it? I've found some 4.73 discs that are silver/white. Is that the latest?
Edit: Actually I found a 4.92, but it says for 2006 and up only. Will it still work on my 2005?

Re: 05 HAH Navi DVD error
I got the lifetime updates for something like $65 last year during Thanksgiving weekend. Plus, you can buy Garmins online that already include lifetime updates. Just buy model numbers that end in LM, or if you want traffic also, LMT.
