Default Car's at the dealer right now, help me get new rear control arms!

I told them the rear felt "loose" and I was concerned about uneven tire wear.

I also gave them Service Bulleting # 08-001.

They are test driving it now, and the service rep thought it was a camber problem.

Doesn't sound like I am getting a "No problem, we'll replace the rear control arms and give you a free alignment" treatment.

Any last minute advice?

I've also told them the steering creaks a but, I'm not hearing a "no problem" on that issue either.

Also, weird to note, my wife got an OLD Honda Civic as a loaner. I didn't think they did older cars for loaners.

.................

Nevermind. They did it!

I try to delete it later... gotta go..

Well, I can't delete the first post, so................. here my glorious conversation with myself. Good news all around. Hope you enjoyed!

Cheers, nf

I think this must be a normal setting for the HCH2. Mine is like that as well, but there is no wear on the tires and it handles great. Probably low air pressure in your new car? I'm sure you ran with 40 + in your old HCH2. I believe the camber setting is for better handling. I also feel they change the camber for complainers! I would much rather have a good handling auto. You may want to have them check the alignment for your own peace of mind. H

Morning all,

Thanks for checking in. My wife picked the car up at 8:30 last night. I haven't driven it yet, I probably won't get a chance to until this weekend.

I mostly did it for the tire wear. I want my tires lasting 60k miles instead of 30k.

And yes, they said they did an alignment.

Sorry, I don't have more to report. Of course I will update later. I have one HCHII with the fix and one without, now. Let's see how they compare.

Cheers, nf
