When I bought it I wasn't aware it couldn't go up a hill without downshifting two gears then it still loses a lot of speed.
Wow you must have some horrendous hills, you must be going practically straight up.

I'm not sure if mods will help very much but ever thought of dropping in a V6?
Back in around 1979 I knew a someone who put a stock Chev 350 4spd into a 1971 Toyota pick up truck. He had to line the bed with cinder blocks to keep traction and the radiator protruded a couple of inches in front of the grille area.

He was quite inventive.
He also put a 1972 Impalla body on top of a 1954 Ford 4WD pickup frame built to the max.
Also modified a 1970 Camaro with a dual carb setup with Nitrus. Amazing.

Interesting I will have to look into the cat back system, I have a friend who owns and exhaust/welding shop so maybe I will head over there and see what we can make.

The hills are not necessarily that steep of an incline just a medium incline for a long distance causing speed to drop continuously. I would rather them be super steep for a short distance so I could get a running start and top them but they drag out so long that other cars slow down causing me to brake and the engine can't recover once it has to accelerate up the hill from a braking condition.
