It looks like GM is doing a "survival by surrendering" plan. It will continue with more and more layoffs and plant closings so that GM can afford to pay the Executives the $100 million bonuses.
When GM goes under, last vehicle to roll off the assembly line will be a 9-passenger land yacht that gets 7 MPG and costs $55k (probably at the same time that the first 65 MPG Honda Fit Hybrid rolls out for $16k.)

So how can we make the Cardinals go from a losing team to a winning team? Should we punish all the players and say "Look, you guys suck, you've lost more than 50% of your games pretty much every year for the last 15 years. We're cutting your pay to $100,000 a year as punishment." Would that work? Would football players - even bad ones - stay on the team if you cut their pay to $100,000?
Probably not. So now you have to hire a whole new team of totally fresh, inexperienced players fresh out of college. Undoubtedly there will be a ton of college grads who otherwise have no chance of getting on an NFL team and would love to have a shot at a six-figure job right out of college. Pretty quick, your team is all filled up with fresh, motivated, ambitious college grads. This will be followed by losing every game of the season. Do you understand now?
