Altima Hybrid 12v AGM Battery Options
Has anyone found a comparable replacement for the vented 12v AGM battery (NOTE: that includes a vent).
Nissan recommends 999MI-NB34C which is in fact the Optima 34C (sku: 8001-200 or sku: 9001-200). These replaced the original Panasonic s65d26r.
Amazon suggests this is compatible: So I called Optima and they told me it's not as it does not have the vent tube. So yes, there are AGM options out there, but none have the vent tube.
It is 2021 and I am surprised this remains an issue after a decade. In the interim I have been using the Gooloo smart jump starter to start my car (it reads how much the AGM is pushing out and supplies only what is needed).

Re: Altima Hybrid 12v AGM Battery Options
Half the time those aren't even attached, or they are missing in a Prius. The only battery I ever saw vent was a yellow top Optima. It was so violent, it blew the vent hose off and filled the car with farts.
If I owned a Camry or Altima Hybrid, I'd install whatever AGM I could get to fit.
These last so long because they barely get used at all. They do not start the car. They simply power the electronics for a couple seconds until the two dozen computers all synchronize, and the relay is energized to connect the HV battery. Once connected, the HV system is supplying 12V power to the car and charging the 12V battery. The HV battery is what spins MG1 to start the ICE.
