It appears I like bumping my own thread, eh? Try and stop me!

That last Nikon 4200 that is coming out soon has some really nice features. It's a good value compared to some of the others I've looked at and doesn't have any "extra" things (like 5 megapixels) that I won't use. For $399 that's looking like a good choice, should I decide to get one, of course. It's due out some time this month.

I feel like I'm talking to myself

I've found two cameras that seem to be pretty darn close to what I'm looking for. I nixed the Canon A-series because they were too darn heavy.

There's the Canon Powershot 410 and the Nikon CoolPix 4200. Lastly, the 4300 is the older model camera I already have. Opinions?

Hi Jason:

___I am in the hunt for a Canon A80 (4 MP/3X Optical) or a Kodak DX6490 (4 MP/10X Optical). I just purchased a Fuji A310 (3 MP/3X Optical) for $134.00 from Best Buy online for my son the other day … Might I suggest that you visit fatwallet.com --> Forums --> Hot Deals --> and type in “Digital Camera” without the “ ” into the search box. Afterwards, hit your refresh every few hours as the bargains will fall into your lap sooner then you may think … The Nikon Coolpix’s are always popping up for a great deal. I missed the Canon A80 for an amazing $199.00 by 4 hours 3 weeks ago and the DX6490 for < $280.00 by 8 hours just last week

___I am sure you already know about the digicam review sites given you already linked one so just start reading if you haven’t already … steves-digicams.com is my favorite.

___Good Luck with your own hunt. And get back to your studies!

To any who care, I took a trip to the camera shop today to see the CoolPix 5200 and have decided on the Nikon CoolPix 4200: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0402/04021207...cp4200_5200.asp

Now I've got to find a place with it in stock to order from ASAP. I think I'll go RitzCamera.com by default
