Lucid, Fisker, Rivian and Canoo are among the well-funded startups racing to release new electric vehicles. But look like they don’t realize how long it took to reach economies of scale and lower cost.

Literally, Lucid will be beaten by NIO in luxury market. I want to say I love Fisker too but the Ocean asks for $50,000. Lucid is the most compelling one but they aim to a high end market and haven’t started production yet.

 

I heard that Vinfast from Vietnam also just launched EVs at CES, their pre-order sales are also huge.

Here buddy, VinFast VF 9 is priced from 40,000 USD in the US. US customers who pre-order $200 will receive an e-voucher $3,000 for the VF 8 and $5,000 for the VF 9.

 

wow, they also give vouchers, no wonder so many people have pre-ordered their EVs

 

The price is okay, but how abt the features and warranty?

 

Guys, monthly rental is $30/mth for a maximum distance of 310 miles/mth. In case of traveling more than 310 miles/mth, customers will pay an additional battery rental fee with the unit price of $0.05/0.6 miles. When the battery's charging capacity drops below 70%, VinFast will replace the battery with a new one completely free of charge. It sounds so fk great

 

More competition is good for us, the consumer. Rivian and Lucid are the most compelling. But tesla's FSD and supercharger network can't be rivaled (at this time).

 

Competition brings prices down. Nice development.
