2009??? Help!

Re: 2009??? Help!
The Camry was completely redesigned for the 2007 model year and i have not heard that there are any differences in the 2009. That is a short model year though.......August 2007 thru December 2007 for the 2008. I have a 2007 TCH and bought it right before the 2008's were released. I gave up trying to keep up with changes. The last car i traded in i bought new in 1987 and drove for 20 years! It only costs more money to try and keep up with the latest trends......save your money, it's not worth it!!

Re: 2009??? Help!
For what it's worth, changing the model year is the easiest way to pass on a price increase, since some/most/all will assume that they are getting a better car and not mind paying more for what is, in effect, the same product.
Very shrewd marketing!

Re: 2009??? Help!
I purchased my '07 XLE-V6 on March 1 '06 which means it was at the dealers before that. But the Camry line was a complete new redesign for '07 but not '09. I think those that purchased '08's recently are getting screwed by an instant extra 1 year depreciation.

Re: 2009??? Help!
I have no nav so I'm unaffected.
And ps--I got my 07 TCH in mid-June 06. Not as early as the march XLE, and I'm sure there are a few TCHs around here older than mine, but that was still pretty early. And in general I tended to recommend picking up a closeout 07 TCH vs a new 08 TCH toward fall--more negotiating room, more feature-inclusive bottom end, etc.

Re: 2009??? Help!
I have notice a trend in lightning up the compact cars. Down from 2850 pounds to about 2650 on many brands. Must be a way for better acceleration and improved gas mileage. Cars must be safer now with so many air bags.

Re: 2009??? Help!
I seriously doubt that there will be any drivetrain changes until the next generation vehicle. Lately Toyota has been on a 5 year cycle with their cars. So I wouldn't expect to see any major changes until 2012.
The Prius is getting close to a major update. There have been conflicting reports on NiMH vs Lithium.
