Default Cruise Control...does it resume from below 25MPH?

As noted in another recent thread, there seems to be differing behavior in our cruise controls. Or perhaps I am not understanding others.

I have a 2007 Japan built, USA spec. TCH with Nav. If I set the CC at any speed, let's say 55, it of course maintains that speed. If I then brake to below 25mph, the resume WILL NOT work. I have to accelerate manually up to the desired speed, then hit "set". Others have mentioned that their's behave differently. Or so it seems.

How does your's behave?

My 09 TCH will resume at 20 mph and above. My daily drive takes me past several schools (and their accompanying radar speed traps ) so I've been very conscious of this CC feature.

I have a US built 2007. After coming to a complete stop, I need to accelerate manually to above 40Kph before the "resume" will work. Nothing happens when I activate it while I remain below that speed, but once above that speed it will engage immediately on activating it. I do not need to "set" again.

I have an '07 TCH, Japan built.

Its CC functions as most others here have said: can be set at speeds above ~ 25 mph; disengages while in "B"; and retains speed in memory so if you slow below ~ 25 mph (or even stop), after hitting ~ 25 mph, you can hit "resume" and it'll take you back to the preset speed.

I have an '08 USA Built, and mine does exactly the same as everyone else. Resume will not work when around 25mph or below, but when you accelerate manually above 25 and hit resume, it will work.

So the only difference I see between what jbollt is saying and what everyone else is saying is that jbollt seems to need to hit "set" again, whereas everyone else just needs to hit "resume". Question to jbollt: have you actually tried to accelerate to above 25mph (40kph) and then hit "resume", or were you trying to use "resume" while still below 25mph?

Copied from post #25 in thread "B" letter on shifter:

jbollt — My previous (1993) Camry did lose its CC memory when the car was braked to a stop (or even to below some minimum speed, but I forget what it was). The TCH is different, and I'm sure you'll find that, if you manually accelerate to >40 km/h (~>25 mph), the "resume" will work, showing that the previous CC setting was still in memory. My TCH is a Japanese-built 2007 model, but I'm sure that they all behave similarly.

My '08 TCH will resume speed once I get to 25 mph.

Thanks all! I was wrong. Finally tested it today, and you are all right, of course! Mine will also resume after I exceed 25mph. Never too old to learn something new, or admit I was wrong....

Now I have to see if it is my 2005 Highlander that I was thinking that exibits that "other" behaviour. It may be difficult, as my wife drives it daily for her 5 mile commute, and we almost never use it on trips...
