Trunk Space

Re: Trunk Space
Are we talking about four "minimalist" golf bags, or four of the huge leather bags with the dedicated putter spot, ball retriever spot, umbrella spot, individual full length tubes for the clubs, the cooler for the beer, oh, and the kitchen sink to wash the club after each hack?
I might be able to get four sets of clubs in most trunks, but if you have even one or two serious golf bags, all bets are off. Now give me a '68 chevy impalla, and I could transport the clubs for the entire Houston Open.
BTW, yes my wife does want me to play golf, and she loves to play, but I don't really care either way. I will play, and enjoy it, but I would have much more fun out on the lake behind my ski boat. She is exactly opposite. She will go and have fun on the lake, but would rather be golfing.
Now, how many slalom skis and wake boards can we fit in the trunk, oh wait, it can't tow the boat to the lake, so it does not matter.

Re: Trunk Space
I haven't tried putting golf bags in my TCH but my 2000 Accord was able to fit (with ease) 1 stand bag (smaller type) and 3 staff bags (the biggest ones), plus the shoe bags and accessories.
It's nice to have a big trunk but not being able to fit the foursome and their bags is a good thing sometimes as you'll be stuck more often than being one to drive everytime a game is on.

Re: Trunk Space
I had a '96 Camry, and I miss the larger trunk (and the huge pass-through). I used the old Camry to help people move. No more! I find the oddly shaped floor of the trunk to be a problem when loading stuff in there. How many people might be interested in a form-fitting storage organizer? Like a small platform that fits the curves on the left side of the trunk (hollow so you could stuff emergency supplies into it) with a nylon canvas soft-sided box to sit on top of that (anchored to keep stuff from sliding around)? I've looked all over for something like that, now I'm thinking maybe there's a market for it...

Re: Trunk Space
From an email conversation I had with my wife shortly after getting the TCH:
Intersting trunk space info.
1999 camry, 14.1 cu feet (this is my old car)
2007 camry, 15.0 cu feet
2007 camry hybrid, 10.6 cu feet (Miza)
2001 acura 3.2 tl, 14.3 cu feet (Your car)
ps. My TCH is named "Miza" as in rhymes with Liza, but is a nifty way of saying "Miser" as in does not gulp a lot of gas. ;-)
