I think it is amazing how advanced the voice recognition is but that it is nowhere near ready for day-to-day use. In particular, it is nuts that you can't use the touch screen while driving but can use the voice nav. Trying to remember the commands and get the voice recognition to work is at least as distracting as using the touch screen.

The UI for the nav system is horrible. It could be simplified dramatically and much more focused on the more common needs. Primary functions should be available while driving and be presented using very large buttons.

The voice command system is cool and useless.

For the life of me I do not understand why a list of all usable voice commands is not included in the NAV manual?
They are included in the "2007 Navigation System Quick Reference Guide" that came with both my '07 C_XLE-V6 and '07 C_HV"
I scanned it and tryed to attach it to this message but the upload failed with a database error.
I'll put it here for a week if anyone wants to grab it:

Pay close attention to Page 18 on graphic "j.jpg". The commands in the rightmost column are not implemented.
Hope this clarifies things.

It's a thin booklet and it supplements the NAV system.
The Voice Command list is on the inside back cover.
I got my car first week of July. I wonder if they are
still shipping the erroneous information? no information
at all? or a corrected booklet?
The NAV's internal help system does not list any
Climate Control commands.

I picked up my TCH at the end of November 2006 and the "2007 Navigation System Quick Reference Guide" listed those climate control commands. Funny thing...those were the first commands I tried and when they failed, I never tried to use the voice commands again. BTW, my quick reference manual was printed on 3/06, based on the date on the back of the guide.

The instructions for all of the electronics are frustrating.

I just got a new TCH and it still had the Quick Reference Card that makes you believe your car has climate control voice command options. After spending several minutes trying to do it, and reading the main owners manual and Nav manual, you finally realize it must be a printing error, and that the car does not in fact have this feature.

ARRRRGH!
