Mileage Breakthrough?
#1
Do I have some sort of record? In an approximate 40-minute trip, I achieved my first 100MPG+ on a 5-minute interval. In fact, I achieved 3! Admittedly, about 3-5 minutes were spent in a parking lot, so this may influence one of them.
So far I've only been averaging about 43MPG, so I'm thinking this may be my car's breakthrough period. I'm approaching 1300 miles.

I'm just approaching 1000 miles this week.
Yesterday I took my first highway trip where I used the cruise control for the first time. I got about 50 MPG, which I considered pretty good since there was a long uphill stretch. On the way back I had three 5 minute bars over 75 MPG (and those were at highway speeds!). Okay, it was a long downhill ... but I was still pleased to get my average up.
I'm going to try using the cruise more on surface streets as well to see if I can use it to supplement my "feathering" technique.
I'd like to get my city mileage over 50 on a regular basis. But it's hard because I have such a short commute. (4 miles.)
I'm hoping these forums will give me more tips on how to improve my fuel economy.
