I found your article fascinating - being a fan of Odyssey batteries for some time. (I have one fitted to my motorcycle.)
My 2004 Prius aux battery measures 12.1 volts, so it will need replacing soon.
However, looking at my UK, right hand drive version, there is a plastic fuse box / connector module mounted onto the existing positive terminal. See pic. Did your left hand drive Prius have the same module on the positive terminal? If you did - what did you do with it when you installed the Odyssey?

Hi,

What I did was:
  1. Find the largest battery that would fit in the space.
  2. Order the screw/bolt version.
  3. Make two short jumpers with lugs.
  4. Used the bolts on both the ground and the 'fusible link' assembly to connect the battery.

In the car:

Notice the block of wood 'shims' needed to hold the battery in place. The terminals are close but not touching the frame. I could have increased the gap with something under the battery.

Bob - thanks for your prompt reply.
Yes, I understand how you electrically connected the battery. Your pictures and instructions are very clear.https://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/...ons/icon14.gif

But... How did you mount the fuse / connector block on the new battery?
The original battery mounts the fuse / connector block on the negative terminal - on the top face. But the negative terminal on the Odyssey battery is on the 'side' of the battery. So, what did you mount the fuse / connector block on?

The jumper bolted onto the Odyssey battery handles it.

On my original battery, the fusable link assembly is on the positive terminal located towards the front. So I'm bolted on to the short jumper holding it above the battery.
