Re: What did you pay for your Prius?

As far I know until today -- Yes, I love my prius and they never cause me any problem. We have approxmately 50+/- mile per gallon, still. It depends on how you know your car and how you drive it. If you step gas at all time and do feather-like touch, your mpg will not change much. I drove almost every month long distance to Harpers Ferry, WV -- paying for gas approx 80 dollars to cover about 1,500 miles. I got 60,000 miles so far since we bought it almost 4 years ago. After tax rebated, we paid about $23. The car was purchased in Florida 4 years ago.

We heard about Hybrid car & Toyota's problems. We do not believe the rumor but the drivers should be the cause of the problems more than the car otself. Floormat ?? I just took them off not from floormat problems but I want to use rubber floormat. It's a lot easier to clean and wash them. I made one mistake by having my two dos sat on the front seat. They wanted to see the road and accidently touch on the button -- changed from MILE to KiloMETER. Wow, I was surprised but not freaking out why the milege was so high for awhile. After setting back to MILE, there is back to normal.

Toyota Hybrid Prius has its own safety device -- from start to stop you have to touch break. When hearing about RUN-AWAY CAR, I do not believe it at all. Though, a driver drive the Prius uphill or downhill -- use B which is breaking engine, the car will slow down. So, what's the deal about bad Toyota cars in the news at the beginning of this year 2010.
