Took it to my dealer (Eureka, Ca.) and had him smell it. What did he say?
He said they all smell like that after a year or so...

We just bought a 2007 Prius with 56K mileage for a very reasonable price and were very happy about the performance and the car condition. The only problem is the strong smell of ammonia. I already brought the car to a detailer to have it cleaned and I even washed the carpet with the odor remover detergent but smell persisted. If there would be any class action so the Toyota company can fix this problem, I am in. Also any advise to solve this stinky problem would greatly be appreciated...many thanks.

The most likely source of an ammonia smell is cat p1ss. Nothing in the car can produce an Ammonia smell.
