2005 Civic Hybrid Radiator Bleeding/Burping - Cabin Heat Issue
I had to replace the radiator as a result of a front end collision. Followed every variant of the burping/bleeding procedure I could find online.
I filled the radiator to the brim and the coolant reservoir to the min. mark
In lieu of jacking up the front end of the car I backed down my ramped driveway so the front of the car would be elevated. With the car cool and running and radiator cap off I pumped both top and lower hoses by hand to remove large air bubbles.
After coolant started flowing verified by noting the bobbing up and down and overflowing at the filler hole I replaced the cap and began bleeding (there were two occasions where the fluid dropped an inch or so below the filler neck in fluid level which I immediately filled).
Upon loosening the coolant bleeder valve I noted some sputtering/steam and then what appeared to be a steady stream of coolant. It took maybe a minute or two at most for the coolant flow to start.
This was my third and final attempt to clear any air that might be trapped in the system. The first two attempts consisted of warming the car to normal operating temperature and opening the bleeder valve but all I got was sputtering of coolant mixed with steam. Even after many minutes i still got nothing but sputtering coolant and steam.
To the best of my recollection I had the cabin heater temperature selector set to maximum.
Cabin heat comes and goes which would suggest air still trapped in the system no?
