Vehicle won't turn over
My sons 2007 FEH wouldn't restart
Checked the 12v battery OK. I can hear the main contactor in'the HV battery case I can hear the other relays on the firewall . The following trouble lights are one wrench light triangle motor oil can. Service soon and stop safely now displayed. him and his father in law took the post off the battery, didn't reset the fault. We both tried swapping the relays in front of the brake booster, pcm, inejctor, pump relays no help. pulled these codes with a blutooth obdII and Torque app for Andriod p1000 p0685 p1a10 Anybody care to triage this mess? If the MECS pump is bad wouldn't it at least start after everything cooled off? Help would be gratefully appreciated as they are a young family with not too much means to get by, Me and the father in law help as much as possble but times are rough as they say. thank you |
Re: Vehicle won't turn over
Could it be something simple like the neutral safety switch?

Will not even crank. I did try to jog the neutral switch but no help.

Re: Vehicle won't turn over
Should the MECS pump run with the key on engine off?
|
Re: Vehicle won't turn over
A failing underhood battery will cause that. I would double check that first with another battery or jumper cables. Also check the battery to frame ground point, I think that was mentioned as a problem too.

Re: Vehicle won't turn over
Hmm, they did try to use a jumper pack yesterday, to no avail.
I do have a pump on the way since it has 80k miles. Is the pump function checked by the electronics coolant temp? If so I would think it would've restarted when it cooled off. |
Re: Vehicle won't turn over
p1000= Battery or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) had recently been disconnected. DTC cleared but all engine management OBD diagnostic monitor drive cycles have not been cleared.
p0685= P0685 Ford - Electronic Control Module Power Relay Control Circuit Malfunction Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM) power relay--The Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected that the ECM remains powered up after the ignition key has been turned off P1A10-Hybrid Powertrain Control Module-Battery Disabled. Failing MECS pump can set off this code. Cut wire(s) to hybrid battery see: http://www.counterman.com/Article/11..._of_p1a10.aspx Sounds like a bad relay--new mecs pump is needed for starters. |
Re: Vehicle won't turn over
First off, thanks all for taking the time to share your knowledge with me.
The new pump should be here today and we"ll go from there. It gives me hope we're on the right track. And maybe not catastrophic Hard for me to see young adults today doing everything right both working long hours, she's going going to nursing school also raising a young guy, and still just making ends meet. Then having setbacks like this. i may be suffering from memory loss in my advanced years but I don't recall having it this tough. And I don't just mean them but alot of kids. thanks again |
