We've just installed vBSEO, short for vBulletin Search Engine Optimization. This vBulletin plugin makes it easier for search engines to index the site by doing a number of things, such as changing the thread URLs to have keywords in them.

We tested this out before we installed it, and we don't foresee any problems. If you see anything funny, post here and I'll take a look at it.

 

Just curious, what is the "(permalink)" all about?

Will we still be able to delete postings we think better of later??

"Permalink" is just a link that points to an individual post. You can still delete everything you could before.

 

What is with these new icons:

I don't find them a problem, just something new taking previously blank space under everyone's signature using the "Edit" and "Quote" line.

The icons are for "social bookmarking" sites, such as Digg and del.icio.us. I can remove them if people don't like them.

 

Basically if you think a thread is worth submitting to one of the sites, you click on the link and it's all automatic.

 

No problem, I just didn't understand their purpose.
