Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tires?

Re: Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tires?
So I had the tires installed on Friday. The ride is VERY smooth and quiet. Haven't had enough time/miles yet to form an opinion on the fuel economy.
I'll report back in a couple weeks.

A couple of weeks??? New tires = ROAD TRIP... NOW!
Hehe, kidding. We are all eager, encouraged, and hopeful. Congrats!
By the way, I re-read their press release by following your original link. A claim of 27 percent less rolling resistance sounds impressive until you realize they never answered the key question... 27 percent less... compared to what?

Re: Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tires?
I was well aware that the 27% reduction in rolling resistance was in comparison to their regular Assurance tire.
Keep in mind that the Fuel Max tire has been chosen by GM as the OEM tire for the Chevy Volt - a car that they need to squeeze every last bit of FE out of to meet the specs they promise.
That has to be mean something.

Re: Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tires?
A Goodyear press release claims that 27 percent lower rolling resistance translates to a four percent improvement in fuel economy. (Where's my calculator...)
50 MPG x .04 = 2 miles per gallon... not bad!

Re: Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tires?
I just had the Assurance Fuel Max tires installed yesterday 3/30/2009. I will agree that the ride is smoother and definitely much quieter than the OE Integrities. They seem to roll nicely, but that is comparing them to my old tires, of which the left front had a slow leak.
It will be a week or two till I get rid of the rest of my gas , so I can compare mileage.
2006 Prius.......50+ in summer 42-48 in Wisconsin Winter (and one leaky tire LOL)

That's great news, Dan. Don't forget to come back and give an update, even if it's just to say you don't have any more leaks.

I just took the plunge, too. Bought four 215/60-16's for my Accord Hybrid. Initial drive (+50miles) they are quiet, about the same mileage, but very wiggly around higher speed turns on the interstate even at 40psi. Will report back after a tank or so...
