Heated Seats, 2007 HCH
With Starman's info (thanks again!!), I am going to install heated seats in my 2007 HCH. I'll capture the info as it unfolds to pass on the information.
Just purchased Item# 320461437753 off of E-Bay, one for each seat. When they arrive, I'll capture some photo's and get going.

Re: Heated Seats, 2007 HCH
When I get the new seat heater kits, my plan will be to remove the seats, bring them into the shop and dis-assemble them to the point of being able to install the heating elements onto the foam cushions.
Here are the shop manual instructions for front seat dis-assembly for those interested in doing this upgrade:
See next post for remaining pages....

Re: Heated Seats, 2007 HCH
Make sure you don't fry all the sensors in the passenger seat.
Check that.
I'm going on the assumption that since non hybrid Civic's (with leather) have a heated pax seat and the same safety sensors, there cannot be too much of an issue with the heated seats from the factory.
That said, I'll exercise the due diligence/caution necessary to prevent any damage to that system.
Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Heated Seats, 2007 HCH
Based on the input from noflash, I have re-checked some of the details ref seat removal and the SRS.
Note the following (highlighted in magenta):.
From Starman the following caution was included in his experience of removing the front seats:
"Put the key in the car turn on, but don't start. Remove the (+) cable from the battery. Leave key in and turned on. This will prevent any air bag system alarms...."
From the instructions for the heated seats:
"1. Turn off the car and leave the key in the ignition in the off position. 2. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery..... 4. Once the seats are bolted back into the car and the SRS connectors are reconnected, be sure that the key is in the ignition (but not turned on) and then reconnect the negative terminal of the battery."
I'd like to re-confirm the "best practice" to not trip an SRS alarm. Thus, to any SRS experienced person: to prevent SRS memory alarms, do I remove the (+) or (-) wire from the battery and/or do I leave the key in the ignition switch in the "off" or "on" position?
Much thanks
Mike

Re: Heated Seats, 2007 HCH
I just got the re-confirmation ref "leave the key in the ignition" prior to removing battery prior to SRS disconnection at the seats (prior to seat removal). This should prevent any SRS alarms.....
I have also made a 2 cavity connector and spliced into my trunk solenoid connector. Bottom line, I now have a connector set up with "ground" and "hot when key in acc and/or on", ready for the heated set connection. I'll post pictures of this new connector (connector 'C0002') when I post pictures of initial seat removal from the car.
Heater units should arrive 31 Dec 2009. Will have my project waiting to go New Years Day .
Cheers

Re: Heated Seats, 2007 HCH
My heated seats apparatus has just arrived in the mail ...It had no instructions, so I got these manufactures instructions off the net.....
detailed.manufactures.instructions.doc
I will go thru the instructions and begin my project later today. I anticipate no show stoppers. I did scrounge thru the local wrecker and got a bunch of OEM Honda wire and connectors in case that becomes necessary.
Later........

Re: Heated Seats, 2007 HCH
Well, the seats are in and nice and toasty.
I've captured lots of photos and I'll post them within a few days, detailing the job.
Of course, I now have an SRS lamp lite up
Is there any "easy" way for me to extinguish this "false SRS alarm"?
....Or do I just put a piece of black tape over the lit symbol and wait until some day I need to take the car into a Honda dealer for other work that I cannot do on my own?
Cheers
