IMA Battery Usable Capacity -CONFIRM

IMA Battery Usable Capacity -CONFIRM
How can I verify the IMA Battery Usable Capacity besides spending $45 at the Dealer?
I had the Dealer run the check and provide the documented results, but both the date and mileage were incorrect on the report. maybe a typo
I initially thought only the Dealer could preform certain checks and processes, but came to find out others are capable and sometimes more open to the customer actually observing
the work as it is done. For example, I requested Dealer perform the burnishing procedure on a vehicle and I could see I was charged for 7 quarts which rings true for multiple burnishes, but the judder remains an issue. So I take the vehicle to another shop and they burnish the start clutch and show me every detail and the judder disappears. FIXED
Now, I am second guessing the IMA results from the Dealer.
who can confirm IMA usable capacity?

$45 from the dealer is CHEAP. Most charge > $130 and will tell you there's no such value.
Was your VIN on the report? VIN is pulled from the car.
Date and time are pulled from the device (laptop or full HDS system).
Mileage is manually entered.
Honda Diagnostic System (HDS). You can buy your own for about $200 assuming you have a suitable laptop + hours of effort figuring it out.
Other professional grade diagnostic systems should be able to read the information as well; however, you will have to rely on a knowledgeable person at the shop.

Re: IMA Battery Usable Capacity -CONFIRM
what about using this method to determine capacity??
1)disconnect 12V for 30 seconds
2)reconnect 12V battery
3)start car and idle-charge the IMA until the charge indicator stops and the SoC gauge comes to a resting position

What would that tell you?

Re: IMA Battery Usable Capacity -CONFIRM
I have two cars.
#1 is a total lose, put car in drive, car goes no-where.....but IMA battery is ok
#2 , the IMA light comes on every now and then.
so, I want to know the IMA battery usable capacity on vehicle #2
instead of taking car to the dealer, can i just check it by the idle-charge method above?

Re: IMA Battery Usable Capacity -CONFIRM
ah, it would show SoC,right?
looks like I can keep vehicle #1 , even though tranny is shot, as a vehicle to sustain the charge of the IMA battery for long-term backup
Finally, preparing your IMA battery for long term storage

Finally, preparing your IMA battery for long term storage
- The IMA battery, like all batteries, slowly discharges if unused for a long period.
- To prevent damage to the IMA battery, it needs to be charged every 90 days. Please refer to the procedure above to recharge the IMA battery.
- If the vehicle is going back into storage after charging, remove the No. 23 (10 A) fuse to prevent drain on the 12 V battery.
- Start the engine.
- Hold the engine at 4,000 rpm, and watch the IMA charge display on the gauge control module. The display should show about four green bars of charging.
- Continue to hold the engine rpm between 3,500 and 4,000 until the IMA battery charge display shows that the IMA battery is fully charged.
- Turn the engine off, then restart it to confirm that the IMA battery is fully charged.
- Do the Auto Idle Stop Test

Re: IMA Battery Usable Capacity -CONFIRM
I could change the insurance on vehicle #1 to PNO
and when vehicle #2 IMA comes on to indicate IMA battery needs replacing.....I will use the IMA battery in vehicle #1 to replace it.
