I can't wait to see it. What will Honda do this time? Add wings?
Honestly, I think it'll use lithium-ion batteries like the FCX Clarity.

Why do they show a picture of the old Insight? Why not give us spy shots or an artist's rendering of the future car?
Also, the price they're proposing is hardly "competitive." $16,000 - $20,000 Euros equates to $22,000 - $28,000. You can already buy a Civic Hybrid for the low end of that price range, and, by European standards, it's a luxury family sedan.

To compare the article mentions the Prius as 24,000 Euros so the Honda will clearly be cheaper that the current Prius here in the US as well.

For some reason, cars in Europe cost alot more. The price, for Europe, is less than the Prius, so I'm sure the car will costs less than the Prius in America too.
The reason they didn't put up any spy photos was probably because there are no such photos. There only photo available is from several months ago of a hybrid prototype that Honda was testing (It was some minivan they only sell in Japan with the Fit's nose grafted onto it)
The Japanese car companies are very secretive.

If they can sell it here for $16-20k they have a winner. If they can offer a sedan trim then they have a big winner.
Basically at 16-20k its in Scion tC territory. Its gonna be a hit with the youth, and many other segments too!

Those pics are of the CR-Z concept, which is a sporty hybrid that Honda has suggested they will produce.
However, the "global hybrid" that Honda has been talking about for a loooong time is supposed to be a small car (smaller than civic) but still be a family car. I suppose that the hybrid concept that they are going to show, will be the "global hybrid" family car since they have been talking about it longer than the CR-Z. I'd imagine they'd debut their "global hybrid" family car since there'd be no point in releasing another evolution of the CR-Z which they they a)already have shown and b) don't have a large market for.
