At least, $2500 is my haggle price, seller selling for $3500. Still have to check the car.

If you hate money, and you want to spend more time and money dealing with problems, absolutely. Get it. It will absolutely be a pain in your a$$.

The right price for that car is free.

Actually, seller should pay you to take it.

183,000 miles is really high mileage - that's nearly 300,000 kilometres! I personally don't consider anything over 150,000 kilometres (~93,000 miles). $3500 is a ridiculous asking price imo. I wouldn't touch it unless you're mechanically inclined and happy to replace lots of parts yourself, otherwise the labour bills are going to be in the thousands.

I sold one with 224K miles on it. Still running great, but it needed a ton of stuff - A/C compressor, Upper cat, engine mounts, battery and upper O2 sensor.

I've owned 2 '06. I will never own one again.

Which is completely offset by increased maintenance costs. On one, we didn't do so bad. We owned it for about $65K miles, and maintenance was reasonable. The other we only owned for about $15K miles, and put $1600 in parts into it (I did all the work - would have been in excess of $5,000).

Do not buy. Run away. If you really want a HCH2 look for a different one. $2500 is a really tight budget for a trouble-free hybrid.

I have a 2006 HCH2 and I like it. I plan to keep it for many more years. But I only have 55k miles on it.

More importantly, if you really want an HCH2, you need to address the underlying issue - stop wanting one and look for a completely different vehicle.
