Default 2 NAV questions

Just took my '08 FEH 4WD on its first trip. I had a few questions:

Is there a way to have the MPG show in the message center if you have the Nav system? I would like to look at the map, but also see the MPG display at the same time.

Is there a way to have the Nav system show the song/artist in the status bar instead of the channel name on the Satellite Radio?

As for the music information question, who do we complain to so that this can be put into a software upgrade?

As for the MPG display... I find that really hard to believe - they don't have a different message center for both versions of the radio. It's got to be a programming change.

There is no true "user feedback" path into the software programmers at Ford (or at Ford's vendors).

The data comes from the same source. Why Ford disables the Message Center's display of the info, if you have the NAV radio, is up for just speculation. However, both still have access to the data.

There is no "jumper" that enables/disables the Message Center's display of the info. So, yes, it must be in the vehicle's unique configuration file, loaded on the assembly line. I have never found anyone, with access to those or knowledge on how to set/reset features within them.

Well you know it might be that the plug set that delivers the info to the nav radio might be the same one that would display in the msg center. meaning that if you have the nav radio they simply plug into the back of the radio instead of the msg center. So when the msg center senses that there is no plug back there then it just does not display anything. just a thought.

As I recall, there was somebody here who had an earlier model with NAV that had a message center installed by a dealer and it worked fine. You can probably search and find the story.
