2008 Rear Mud flaps / Splash guards

Re: 2008 Rear Mud flaps / Splash guards
I got into some mud and snow today and found the molded ones to be completely ineffective. It's really annoying to have mud on the front door handles, and this was from low speed, cautious driving. Gotta get something way better soon.

[quote=econoline;157054]Bill, which splash guards did you install? Did you post pictures here somewhere? I'm still shopping for replacements for the Ford molded ones.

A photo of my vehicle (side view) is in the photo section-rural nordic ski area. One pair of my splash guards are from either advance auto parts or autozone and size #4. The other pair I got off the internet and via a previous post on the escape-central.com site.

Re: 2008 Rear Mud flaps / Splash guards
I received instructions for installing the new 08 splash guards from fordpartsdirect.com. These do look like actual molded splash guards:

Those look identical to the molded Ford splash guards I got for my '07. If you have a chance, you might want to look at these before ordering them. I found them too small to be useful as mud guards, plus the rears mount at a slight angle which detracts from their appearance. The fronts are bigger and do a fair job. I ended up removing the Ford splash guards and getting full sized aftermarket mudflaps.

Here are the aftermarket Husky rear molded flaps I have on my '07 (yea, I know, a pretty lousy pic, color wise)...
You can also see them in my signature pic...
