Bill, which splash guards did you install? Did you post pictures here somewhere? I'm still shopping for replacements for the Ford molded ones.

I got into some mud and snow today and found the molded ones to be completely ineffective. It's really annoying to have mud on the front door handles, and this was from low speed, cautious driving. Gotta get something way better soon.

A photo of my vehicle (side view) is in the photo section-rural nordic ski area. One pair of my splash guards are from either advance auto parts or autozone and size #4. The other pair I got off the internet and via a previous post on the escape-central.com site.

 

Noticed this listing the other day, on this page, any idea what these are? They also have the listing for front ones...



If these really are new ones for the 2008 from Ford I'd think we could add the rear ones regardless of side steps.

 

I received instructions for installing the new 08 splash guards from fordpartsdirect.com. These do look like actual molded splash guards:





I will post pictures when I take the plunge and order some...

 

Those look identical to the molded Ford splash guards I got for my '07. If you have a chance, you might want to look at these before ordering them. I found them too small to be useful as mud guards, plus the rears mount at a slight angle which detracts from their appearance. The fronts are bigger and do a fair job. I ended up removing the Ford splash guards and getting full sized aftermarket mudflaps.

 

Thanks for the heads up. The guy that emailed me the instructions said these appeared to be different than the 07s, possibly larger. Ford's line drawings leave much to be desired in specifics. The problem is that the local dealer, nor other sites, nor the accessory catalog even list these, so I doubt I will get to see them in person...

Received an e-mail from AutoAnything this week that indicates that they now have molded Husky Mud Guards for the 2008 Mercury Mariner.
