Re: 2009 order and build dates

These dates are not quite current. They've been updated several times since originally posted here in January:

https://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/...tml#post158944

Sometimes people pull these out of Google but they're usually old, cached versions. I think that's what's been happening as they are out there in several places like this.

New dates are currently unavailable. They are still marked "N/A" on the schedules and have been that way for a few weeks. I'll try to post updated info if I see it.

I'm one who will be ordering right away, tried to order in feb of this year and dealer was told the 08' were sold out....I'll keep you guys posted what I hear.

Re: 2009 order and build dates

An owner of a Ford Dealership stated to me the 2009 Escape is scheduled to arrive this summer but could not state the exact date. What I posted is what he believed would be fairly accurate at this time.

This came from GaryG http://www.bblfleet.com/ford_buildout.pdf
My source may have been referring to this information.

Re: 2009 order and build dates

I was told very late summer by three dealers.

http://www.donlen.com/buildstart_trucks_ford.html site was updated today.

It shows 2009 Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid order aceptance as 4/17 :D; order scheduling in mid September :omg: and build start in October .

Billyk 03-25-2008 09:27 PM

Re: 2009 order and build dates

The new Ford Fusion Hybrid is to arrive later this year and shares the hybrid components with the Escape. This could explain the later in the year introduction for the Escape Hybrid compared to the non-hybrid version.

Nice find. Pass the word out.;)

No dates are available yet but it looks like Donlen put up some estimates. This is good info.

This is just a guess, but I think we could be looking at a situation where Ford still can't get parts (batteries) to meet demand, in which case they will continue 2008 production as a subsequent run occurring after the summer break. I'll bet they already have enough orders in hand for it.

I agree with whoever said resources are going to the Fusion as a priority right now. That's important.

Slick 03-26-2008 11:12 AM

Re: 2009 order and build dates

But how will they continue 08' production or extend it after summer break....when they stopped taking orders and told us to basically come back in april? I can imagine the fusion will put a dent in escape hybrid production...but if they really aren't starting back up on the FEH util september or october I'll be buying used....**** model year is almost over by then.

mtberman 03-26-2008 11:57 AM

Re: 2009 order and build dates

These are all guesses of course, but...

They might do it if orders already in-hand exceed their ability to fill them before break. We know they stopped taking 08 orders, but do we know how many they have? I wonder. In the past KCAP people have repeatedly said they can only build a certain number of hybrids per day. If Ford has orders to keep the '08 run going after break, maybe they will just continue. It's not like it's unprecedented.

Perhaps production is being altered to match the Fusion. The dates provided are almost identical to those of the FF, and we know the 2010 FFH will share much with the 2009 and on FEH.

Not sure but these are two possible explanations for the unusual changes in production scheduling.

Re: 2009 order and build dates

Isn't this the source of the production problem:

"Ford suspects it may be getting squeezed out by its Japanese rivals. With the fall launch of the gas-electric Mercury Mariner, Ford is tripling its hybrid SUV lineup over three years. But its transmission supplier, Aisin Seiki Co. Ltd., can boost deliveries by only 20 percent, to 24,000 transmissions annually." http://detroitnews.com/2005/autosins...A01-272872.htm
AND AN UPDATE

"Aisin Seiki Co., an affiliate of Toyota Motor Corp., plans to increase its supply of core motor systems for hybrid vehicles to Ford Motor Co.....The Ford Escape Hybrid and Mercury Mariner Hybrid are equipped with Ford’s first-generation transaxle, which Ford developed jointly with Aisin AW...Aisin has supplied dual-motor systems to Ford since 2004, with shipments currently reaching around 20,000 systems a year...." from

I've been working with a broker who in turn works with a well connected fleet manager. The order guide came out today and the f/m faxed it to the broker. It's a very poor fax but almost better than nothing.

It seems there will be just two versions: Standard and Limited, with few options (the Limited has almost everything) and limited color choices. As of an hour ago the Ford Web site still had the 2008 info. Two new colors are Brilliant Silver and White Suede, and if you'll go to the Ford site and call up the 2009 Flex you can see those colors.

The price guide isn't out yet - if I get a copy I'll post it.

Cheers

My dealer got the info today also, I'm waiting on pricing though. Limited seems to just have all the options standard...sync and sat radio is now standard on all hybrids, ...and they deleted the tungsten grey color I wanted.. :(

Re: 2009 order and build dates

I ordered my 2009 Ford Escape 4WD Hybrid Limited today. My local dealer told me that they received an allocation of 10, but could not tell me when my Escape will be delivered. However, the order confirmation did have a retail price of the vehicle. Compared to the 2008 model and taking into account the differences in configuration, it appears the pricing of the 2009 is in line with the 2008. The retail price of my vehicle is $32,385 + $695 for delivery. I did not order any additional options except what came standard on the 4WD Hybrid Limited.

Do you live on the West Coast? Who is the dealer that got an allocation of 10 FEH?

Re: 2009 order and build dates

Kinda glad I got an 08. Yea so an 09 has Sync & RSC & steering wheel volume (yeah some of you 08's do too:angry: ) But I don't like the options between Hybrid & Hybrid limited... Just my $.02 To get a few thing's I'd want I'd have to go limited, but I don't like the shiny black interior plastic either.

I wanted leather since it's kid/dog friendly (to clean), & I like my chrome! Looks like even fewer color choices.

BTW I stole this link from Escape Central who stole it from blueoval, oops I mean borrowed...

My guy quoted 33,080 after destination etc....well that's msrp at least.

Well, I was working with a dealer that offers buying service pricing below MSRP. However, they weren't ready to handle a 2009 special order so I searched all dealers within 100 miles of Washington DC. I ended up getting a 2008 Mariner below MSRP. I picked-up the car today.

Honestly it seems below MSRP is a great deal. I haven't look for a few months, but did a 500 mile search yesterday for 08's. A few came up, all used, and asking price was more than I paid! & I have most options minus nav, and most of these were cloth seats & no nav, had to tell other options. I would stress asking price, but doubt there's little wiggle room, you can't say joe across town has one judt like this for less... I'm demand far out weighs supply, and only getting worse as oil climbs.

Re: 2009 order and build dates

Just ordered my '09 Limited FWD Hybrid yesterday in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Hopefully this area gets enough HEV's allocated so that I get it within a reasonable time frame.

I really like all the options the include in the new limited model now. I added the pricey Navigation System only because I like the Hybrid console. Really wish Ford would include this for free like in the Prius'. Also wish they would offer more interior color options as I'd rather have black over stone.

Paying $31,408 for the vehicle with the X-Plan corporate discount (like 5% off sticker I believe). Will keep you posted when I receive any updates.

Woltz and Wind Ford might the largest Ford dealer in the region. Their website http://www.woltzwindford.com/ is listing a 2008 Hybrid in stock. Smart readers will notice an error in the listing as it comes with a 6 speed transmission!:D

If you read through the entire blueovalforums thread where the "2009 Escape Order Guide, Now Available!" is posted, you can see some pricing info in posts #21 & #23 - in fact post #23 has a PDF attached showing pricing for three 2009 FEH :

You can see the A/Z Plan, D PLan & X Plan pricing too.

A-Plan PIN

Ford had to drop the rear disc brakes in the '09's to get stability control in the hybrids.
Has anyone else read this? Has it been confirmed?

Re: 2009 order and build dates

So are you saying that any orders for FEh's from today on (4/29/08) will be an order for an '09 NOT an '08? and that if I order my FEH tomorrow that production probably won't even start until late summer? My dealer just told me 6-9 wks, which sounded quick after perusing this site so I am sure he didn't cal just assumed similiar to other cars. But I really hate to think about waiting more than a few months for my new car-esp with gas. and used isn't an option due to locale and I can use my brother PART D plan for discount.
that is a bummer.!

Krista, I tried to order an 08' FEH in the first week of February (2/08) and they were already sold out for 08' production....we were all told to wait till the 09' "order banks" opened which was last week 4/17....09' production is scheduled for sometime in June of 08'.....we don't expect to see our 09's until late summer early fall, I just ordered mine today.

Re: 2009 order and build dates

JUST A REMINDER from a previous post (it might make your wait a little easier:D ):

Hi - for those of you in the States or in Canada, waiting on delivery or considering ordering, there is a $500 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) rebate available.

There is a stipulation that you must be an AQHA member at least 60 consecutive days prior to your purchase to qualify :

http://www.aqha.com/partners/offers.html

A 12-month membership is $35 USD (cannot use a youth membership).

My wife & daughter are members, I did not think that it would apply on our order but between the dealership & the AQHA it worked.

This could be true. Specs on vehix show 4 wheel disc but it's interesting to note that there's no mention of brakes anywhere on the Ford product info, aside from describing the base model as having "front disc/rear 10" drum brakes".

Any new news on the pricing for the 09 MMH and or FEH? The dealer sites have nothing new still. So when I order I wonder will the dealer even be able to quote me the correct price/MSRP? Or will I be ordering blind to the actual cost!

I can tell you that an 09 FEH 2wd limited, with every available option retails for 34070.00 in the South Florida area...

If you would like a break down further on that, ask away!
