Brake Pad Life for FEH

Brake Pad Life for FEH
I have a 2008 FEH 4WD of 30,000 km or 19,000 miles.
Last time went to dealer have it serviced they recorded/wrote down a 7mm brake pad remaining on the front and 10mm pad remaining on the rear. I have noticed the brand new pad thickness is 14 mm.
That means my front pads are already half way in their life according to my dealer. Is this possible? I heard the re-generating braking significantly increases brake pad life, so what is the normal life for the rear and front pads?
Thanks.

They did a tire rotation, but I am not sure how they measured the thickness.
What was the mileage when you changed your front pads?
Thanks.

Re: Brake Pad Life for FEH
Hi,
I had to replace mine earlier than I would have thought (I forget the mileage now, and I traded to another hybrid since). The problem looked like stuck calipers as one side was worn more than the other. I was not happy and would have expected the dealer, who did all my service (except winter tire swapping) to spot that in one of the many multi-point (and multi$$) to catch that sort of thing early.
Cheers

Re: Brake Pad Life for FEH
Interesting. I think most FEHs get longer life out of their brake pads. I remember reading here on gh that the rear pads tend to wear out faster than the fronts. My 2007 FEH has 80,000 miles and is still on original brake pads and Continental tires...
