Seen at 2009 NAIAS - Integrated convex mirror on MKS for blindspot detection
I went to to the NAIAS this week. One of the things that caught my attention was that the Lincoln MKS shown at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show had a convex mirror integrated into the lower outboard corner of the driver's side review mirror. This is a nice touch that I would like to see added to the FEH/MMH line as I think that my FEH has a large blind spot. I asked one of the customer representatives at the Mercury display if a similar mirror is available on the MMH and he told me that it was not, explaining that small items such as the integrated mirror are some of the "differentiators" that separate the Lincoln line from the Mercury line.

I think that has hit the Mercury lineup for 2010. The 2010 Milan has a BLIS - Blind Spot Information System -- built into the driver's sideview mirror. It also has something that alerts the driver when backing out of a parking spot called Cross Traffic Alert.

This is something the Volvo introduced a few years ago in their concept cars and has worked it's way across the corporate line.
