Too late now but I'm still looking for insight. Husbands truck. Emissions light comes on 80 miles from home while hwy driving. Next it looses power and misfire light comes on. Had it towed back to home dealership and they say need to replace engine. 6.0 liter, 8 cylinder, 95,570 miles - no compression on #6, p0306 code, misfires on #6, 2 1/2qts low on oil (weird). We got a new engine. Comments?

 

Please comment! Only 300 miles on new engine and the oil is at 79%. That can't be right. I'm obviously calling them on Monday but any thought? Please?

 

300 miles in less than 2 months? Then that was not re-set properly at engine change.


The oil life estimator is a computer algorithm that uses time, miles, and temperature.


I can get the Auto-Nag about oil change on my Suburban in 400 miles but that is 6 months.
