Not family friendly but a very good way of saying a band aid on a bullet hole won't help

Yeah, sorry about that. I rarely use colorful metaphors online, otherwise I would have remembered to put a NSFW (Not Safe For Work) or similar warning on the link. Apologies to anyone whose eyes flew open wide unexpectedly on the reading of my blog post. Updated my mention of it to note the colorful language.

A related news story that fits this thread (CNN Money article... so no colorful metaphors, I promise!)

My short answer -> Yes, it's a bad idea.
I agree - and $10/month for 3 months - Oooooooooooo - What a way to buy votes and it doesn't cost'em a cent. And notice, the prestidigitators hand never leaves the wrist

It might be symbolic, but any time I can keep more $ in my pocket and away from the government, it's a good thing. That being said, it's just vote pandering. You can bet your butt that if either Hillary or Barack get in office, they won't be suggesting the same thing next summer.

I think the tax should be removed for the summer, so the oil companies can add another 19 cents to the price. I expect this will happen if demand gets a bump from the tax cut.

Then, in the fall, when the tax gets put back on, the price jumps.

Net effect - more gas gets purchased (and burned) this summer and less tax $ for roads.

Oh, and the possibilities of simple fraud as some stations just don't reduce the price at the pump, but keep the the 19 cents.
