Battery Charging

Re: Battery Charging
The dealer has ordered and received my new IMA battery and they are VERY VERY anxious to install it. Apparently, Honda want's my core back immediately and if the new battery is not installed within the next day, the dealer must return the new battery back to Honda.
Very puzzling?

Re: Battery Charging
Took the dealer less than an hour to replace the IMA battery. Picked it up this morning and it operates just like it did when I drove it off the show room floor. I'm very happy.
BTW, the total cost was $3498.00. Glad it's covered.

Re: Battery Charging
All they replaced was the battery. And, boy, what a difference. Drove her around for about a half a day and my milage has gone up about 10 mpg. Was down to about 40 mpg before and not I'm up to above 50 mpg, both city and highway. Before the battery assist was only kicking in about half. Not with a new battery the assist really helps. With any luck I should get another 120,000 miles out of her.

Re: Battery Charging
Wow, thanks for the firsthand battery replacement info. That 150,000 mile IMA/battery warranty is sure nice
I'm at 30,000 miles, and am looking forward to another 70,000 before needing to replace the battery pack under warranty.
Does anybody have any idea why Honda wanted the old core back so quickly? Disposal issues?

Re: Battery Charging
Is there an easy source for what the warranties are by state? Also, is that the state the car is in presently or the state it was originally sold in when it was new?

Re: Battery Charging
Some of the various warranty stuff is in the owners manual, I think. Warranty is based on the state it was ORIGINALLY SOLD AS NEW in.
