need FCC ID for 2003 HCH-I keyfob
The keyfob on my 2003 civic hybrid died. Used ones are available for a third the cost of new but I want to make sure I get one with the right FCC ID# on the back (mine wore off years ago, and I only got one when I bought the car). Online I've seen two IDs for what is supposedly all '01-'05 Honda Civics: NHVWB1U521 and NHVWB1U523.
If anyone can still read the ID on their keyfob, what is your ID?
Is my FCC ID dependent upon my VIN#?

thanks. Is your car a California car? Since I posted originally, I've come across some evidence that might point to CA car's keyfob being different from the rest.
I also tried my local dealer but since he didn't have one in stock, he couldn't tell me what the number was on the back of a new one.

thanks. I'm going with the 523. I don't know why so many sites list the 521 as a possibility. we'll see what happens. I tried a couple of new parts dealers and gave them my VIN but they would/could only tell me the part number, not the FCCID.
