Default 2006 civic stalled IMA Failure. Safety issue! Please help!

Greetings,
Upon autostop the car never reengaged. I tried to start the car and heard the starter gears grind so apparently the engine was running. I put in in park braked, and the car still rolled a few feet! As the car rolled it made a winding sound which faded as the car rolled to a stop. Fortunately I was able to let the car roll out of traffic. I had to shut the car off and restart. I have scheduled an appointment with Honda. Does anyone have any insight concerning this issue? Any info might shed some light which I can convey to service. BTW the car's recall issue was fixed. Many thanks!

Sounds like a transmission problem. It's not coupling with the motor/engine. That's my impression from your description.

I'm with spinner. Have the CVT, clutch, and fluids checked.

Ok I brought into Honda and all they did was update the computer, so I made them put in a new 12V. I read on the forum that even if your battery is partially charged and still indicates OK, it can cause the IMA to have problems. They didn't mention anything about the transmission and said they couldn't find any thing wrong. I have noticed now with the updates and the new 12V that the regen for the assist while the car was stopped and idling went up very fast. Anyone know why? Thanks for all your insight. Much appreciated.
