I love the Canadians. Where else would a manufacturer set a service interval at 29825.817200000024 miles? So precise!

Here in the US we are so crude, we are told just change it at 30,000 miles or if your name is Pavlov, when the light comes on!

Yes, but I am 100 kilometers from the dealer so I make sure I have enough. Hal

Sorry OE, I'll try and remember next time! Looks like you have it figured however! Hal

Spinner, I've scanned and made a pdf of this pamphlet, but uploading (say a jpeg) to this site seems to result in downsampling to the point that it's unreadable. I'll see if I can find a link to download this, searching for keywords in the pamphlet.

There's 2 mentions of auto transmission fluid change interval in the pamphlet:

1. regular type auto transmission:

96,000 km or 36 mo, thereafter: every 48,000 km, use only Gen. Honda ATF-Z1

1. CVT type auto transmission (Civic Hybrid):

48,000 km or 24 mo, use only Gen. Honda ATF-Z1

There seems to be typo in the pamphlet: the description of the CVT fluid does not seem right.

I agree following the MM is fine. It's just my pref. to change CVT fluid more frequently. We do a lot of short trips, and each change is only about 50% of total capacity.

I'm going to be changing CVT fluid this weekend for the second time at 93000 miles. I'm a bit Pavlovian in doing it only when the three comes on. I hadn't realized it was supposed to be every 30000mi.

Did you really mean to say that in 93 THOUSAND miles you have only changed your CVT fluid twice?

Boy are you doing the write things. The wrench must like your driving style! I only managed 38,000 kilo. and the 3 showed itself. Has your CVT been running well for 93,000 miles and only one change so far,Guzzlebuster? [good handle by the way]

Yeah, I don't know. I got the car with 29000 miles so it's possible that it was done before, but for the most part it's been pretty flat highway driving since then. I did it once around 50k and now I'm due again. CVT has been good. Only problem I had was a O2 sensor go down at 80k.

Hey people -- my first post . Maintence Minder for A123 service turned 5% at 41,900km. Mostly long distance highway driving, plus under 10km local shopping trips. Paid $17.24 per US quart (x3) at local Honda dealer, plus 5% Gov't service tax here in Calgary, Alberta.

But what bugs me the most is trying to get a safe CVT level reading after fluid change (60 seconds, 90 seconds -- what a brilliant design ). Subject for another post on an existing thread.
