Question Photos of hitch installed?

Hi all - I'm going to be getting a bike rack, and am leaning toward the hitch mount after reading your various posts on the topic (thanks!!!). In a couple threads, there is a link to some pics Sledge posted, but it seems to be a dead link now. Any chance anyone with a hitch installed could post some pics - hitch + bike rack would be ideal? Want to be sure it won't (a) look bad and (b) require messing with the shell.

Thanks! And thanks to those that did the research on the warranty issues. Since I have no plans to tow anything I am ok going forward - on a separate tangent... seems like the HCHII would be a tad underpowered to tow much more than a tiny trailer, but that's another discussion!

Thanks again everyone!!!

I'll try to take some tomorrow. I have one, but it was installed by the previous owner. It bolted right up and is no biggie.

For the record, I've towed uhauls 3 times. Once was 250 miles with 1,800 (ish) lbs. attached and I got 37.5mpg doing it. It hauls admirably.

It does hang low however, and I hit it on all kinds of stuff, not that it matters though.

Wow, you aren't worried about your CVT warranty?

Sorry I haven't had a chance to take a pic, but that's what it looks like. It hangs low, but really it's no big deal.

As far as the CVT warranty... No, I'm not worried about it, nor do I really care. The previous owner (my grandfather) towed farm stuff around. Granted it was usually 300-500lbs, but hey it's a car. My towing was born of necessity not because I was trying to show off. I have a Jeep that tows better (more power, but short wheelbase), but it wasn't around and I had stuff that needed to go.

Besides, I'm coming on 100k miles so fast that I doubt that I'd ever be able to take advantage of the warranty. I don't tiptoe around this car. I drive it. I'm in it 1,500 miles a week, and I rarely tow and rarely speed. I don't "hypermile" to it's full advantage, but I enjoy the mileage I get driving this car in the real world. It's a great car and does just what's advertized... and a little more.

I'm not going to sit here and advise towing, but I'll also say that this is a metal motor that makes horsepower. It can tow. Just be careful.

Wow.
I'm suprised they would specifically recommend this.

Well you can bolt a 500 lb anvil to a 1 man hang-glider, but would you try that!!!
