I dont get what your saying cause the wiki says basically what I said but in a nicer way.

The hch has the regular IMA starter motor and also got a spare starter motor that works just like in normal cars. when the ima is too cold or it has a problem the standby starter draws cold cranking amps from the 12V battery. this is no secret to many people in this forum.
some reviews suck and are full of crap info. we better get our info from the people who really know the hch cause these guys sure aint them.

Just google one of the online Honda parts websites, such as Bernardi or Majestic, and you will find the starter motor listed for any year HCH model, such as this:

I have a 2008 HCH II and I live in Montreal, Canada. The car uses the normal, 12V starter at least a couple of times throughout the winter, on cold days. Trust me.

I have never heard the stater yet. I would probably react the same as Bob. It was over -20 on probably 6 days in the last 5 years and that did not make the starter jump into action. I sort of expected it.I have started using a battery maintainer. 2 amps charger. Electronic one. H
