Car slides like a rollerskate on ice

Ok, got Goodyear VIVA 2's from Walmart, had them inflate the tires to 40psi (all four). Not used to driving on higher than 35, so if you have a better recommendation for PSI (the cold max on these is 44) let me know.

Got the tires two days before going on a road trip from Columbus to St. Louis. Averaged 43.9-45.7 mpg the entire trip. Definitely a slight drop, but wasn't too bad. As the tires lose some of their outer crust and settle in it'll get better.
