cost of new Civic Hybrid

Got a E-Mail ad from the dealer I bought from in March and they are selling for 17,999 here in Houston. What are they in other parts of the country? No I'm not with or do I sell cars either. Kevin

Hi Texashchman:
___As of ~ 3 months ago, a 2005 w/ CVT was going for $19,969 w/ the 5-speed at $18,969 w/ both incl. dest. up here near Chicago.
How much did you pay?
___A 2005 at $17,999 sounds like a great price given the following …
2004 HCH w/ CVT invoiced at $19,357 incl. dest.
2004 HCH w/ 5-speed stick invoiced at $18,445 incl. dest.
2005 HCH w/ CVT invoices at $ 19,519 incl. dest.
2005 HCH w/ the 5-speed stick invoices at $18,607 incl. dest.
___What were the details of your E-Mail as many in the “Honda Accord Prices Paid” and “Questions for a Car Dealer” threads over at Edmunds are seeing Honda Accords and Civics being let go for under invoice for any trim and no one can pin point why? The Accord’s have a sales fall year over year of ~ 5% but under invoice for everything? Most of the dealership salesman/woman posters say dealerships cannot live on Hold Back yet here it is once again? There is a Honda salesman that posts to the same group(s) that has specifically stated that there are no hidden or internal rebates yet everyone and I mean everyone can grab an Accord of whatever trim (other then a Hybrid of course) for less then invoice in just about any state in the lower 48 with maybe an hour or two of E-Mails to the Honda dealership Internet sales departments with simple pricing and availability requests.
___Let me know the details of the E-Mail. Did it say it included destination, an 04 or 05, CVT or manual? I wouldn’t mind hearing the inside info from the dealership staff manning those 2 groups once I pass on the details of your E-Mail as well.
___As a side note, I am hearing of many more individuals picking up Prius II’s for MSRP with no waiting around the country now as well. What a change a year makes I guess?
___Good Luck

Wayne it didn't say anything more than 17,999. I take it that does not include the dest. I was wondering because I paid 17,200 in March and that included the dest. Kevin

I just looked again at the e-mail and it's abit confusing as it states that only thing you pay extra is tt&l but then says dest. charges are 490 for 04 and "just" 25.00 more for 05s. DEALERS...aghhhh...lol Kevin
