molex,
you must not have your doors set to auto lock when the vehicle is placed in gear or it reaches a certain speed. you have to program it to do that. when you get it from the dealer it is not programmed to auto lock.

Got it, thank you.

My wife's Ford came from the dealer with autolock on, and I HATE IT. I can't stand the car telling me when I should lock my doors, hey you know what? If I want the doors locked I'LL LOCK THEM.

Anyway, the center console button is on the Mini. If you are forced to unlock the door and then open the door handle (in the civic), that's lame, imo. In the mini, the door handle will unlock the door, which I thought was pretty clever.

That is pretty **** clever. Wish the Civic had that....

Cryx: DEFINITELY an oversight in my eyes, but I agree that its a commuter car, so from that angle I understand. BUT STILL, it can EASILY by locked with the key or remote, so I don't see the logic in the end....
