Smile New Prius owner

Just picked up our new prius last Saturday (04/23/05). Traded in a 2003 Toyota Highlander SUV. With 2 days of driving and about 60 miles, we are getting 47 MPG. My wife is going to be the primary driver... so now I'm working on her to let me trade in my Honda Pilot SUV for another Prius. I enjoy using the Consumption & Energy screens to adjust my driving to maintain good gas milage. Still alot to learn but enjoying every second

Welcome, Wayne! You'll find another Wayne that posts quite frequently. The 2005's #6 is the same as the 2004's #9, correct? All the options?

waynehg,
Welcome to greenhybrid! Out of curiosity, what kind of mileage were you getting with your 2003 Highlander?
I enjoy using the Consumption & Energy screens to adjust my driving to maintain good gas milage.
The consumption screen (found in most hybrids) is one of my favorite features as well.

My wife drove the highlander most of the time so I'm not positive, but I think the average was around 18-23 MPG.

Talking Re: New Prius owner

My wife just called and is enjoying the new Prius so much she said if I really want to trade in the Honda Pilot, see if I can work it out, so I'm calling the dealership to see what their inventory is. We may be a 2 Prius family soon.

Wow! 2 SUV's to two Prius - you should call the local news when you get your other one. I'm sure they'll eat it up next time they do a "gas is so expensive" story!

In a couple of years we'll be dumping the Grand Caravan....possibly a Prius or another HCH.

Wow! Guess that's what I get for still being in grad school... we had to buy hubby a used Camry. Not that he complained because it's more of a project to him than just a car. Mechanics...

I wish we could afford 2 Prii!
