Thing is, someone from the store MUST have helped load that on there and they should have known better even if the stupid driver didn't. Darwin Award candidate, for sure!

When you said they had Florida plates I thought maybe they bought all that wood to cover windows before a huricane and couldn't rent a truck because everyone else was renting them... but after reading they were in Maryland... WHY DIDN'T THEY RENT A TRUCK!? They had enough money to buy all that wood and concrete... and those aren't stock rims, so it's obvious someone cared about the car...

Well, the snopes article did say the Home Depot people made them sign a waver...
I am amazed they even got out of the Home Depot parking lot!

Sadly, the Darwin Award is for people who remove themselves from the gene pool. Doesn't apply in this case (it would have if the the wood had fallen through the roof and crushed them...), but it's only a matter of time, I'm sure, until they do something even more stupid....

A coworker pointed out that Lowe's will rent you a truck for $15 an hour, and I assume Home Depot does the same.

I only pointed out that they were from Florida to relieve people in the other 49 states and Canada who were frantically thinking, "God, not here!" But I suppose I should also have warned the ones in Maryland who now have to live with this moron.
