putting factory navigation in MMH with just CD player
Is this simple plug and play? or is there more to it then this....to me there should be a wiring loom already inside the car ready for both CD or Navi.....i dont want to buy a factory navi and try to put it in without knowing first... perhaps i should call ford?

I did it on my 2008 FEH just under three years ago and it has worked great ever since. Have you gotten the bezel for the dash. You will also need to install the GPS antenna.

In the 2008, the navigation unit requires a different bezel (the plastic part of the dash that goes around the unit), it might be different for the 2006 since the interior was redone for the 2008 though, I am not sure. You can always check a 2006 that has it installed already and compare. I got mine form the dealer for under $50.
You will also need an antenna to receive the GPS signal. On the 2008 it was meant to be mounted under the dash just behind the passenger airbag, but it can realistically go anywhere under the dash. I bought mine on eBay, here is an example of what you need.

Yes, in the 2008 it is the same plug. Sorry, I didn't realize you had a 2006 when I replied to your original post, I can't answer for sure about the 2006.
