Re: Finally got one. 09 Altima Hybrid $19499 + tax and dmv fees
Hello I'm thinking of getting an Altima hybrid as well and I'm also from the bay area. I saw the poster from Dirito Brothers saying that the base model is selling for $19,999 + tax/dmv. May I know what is your OTD price? Is the price still valid if I need financing?
I'm an international student and does not pay taxes, does it mean that I'll not qualify for the $2350 tax credit?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

The tax credit means the buyer will be able to offset x amount from the amount of taxes due in x year. For example, if one owes 5,000 on his tax return the credit will reduce it by 2,350. That's if you file U.S. tax return.
OTD price will depend the county you live in for the tax rate but it should be under 23,000 for the base NAH. You will pay more if you option it. It could be worth it to you to spend a little more for for more options. We already have a car with leather, sunroof, etc. so we didn't need it in the NAH.
As far as financing, it depends on your credit but the price did not change when I told the dealership I had financing already.
If you are going to Dirito you can ask for Sean Driver. He's the fellow that is advertising the NAH at heavily discounted prices(all packages)

Thanks mean-boy for the info!
Just to clarify, you couldn't get low APR rates for financing if you are getting the discounted price? If so how do you get a good financing rate?

You're referring to the Nissan financing at zero percent? No, I don't believe you could take the full rebate and zero percent financing but I had outside financing so I didn't even think about that.
The $19,999 price includes the Nissan rebate. If you can get outside financing at a good rate then take the rebate.

Thanks for all the info so far!
How do you source for a good finance rate? What is considered a good rate if I plan to complete the payment in 36 months?
Btw how are you liking your new car?

I think a lot depends on your credit score. If you credit score is good you will get a good rate. My rate for 60 months was 4.27 percent with automatic payments and 4.52 without. I only applied at one place and that was Capital One. They offered me Nissan financing at 5.9% and that was with the rebate.
I've driven about 150 miles so far and it's been mostly city. It's a pretty cool car. It drives well. I've learned how to feather the gas to keep in EV mode when it starts up and have it kick in going down hills, etc. It's not boring unless you want it it to be. Our other car is a Lexus GS300 and at least for now, I prefer to drive the NAH.
I just filled up the car today after taking it's first fill up on Wednesday. We went 70 miles since then and used 1.7 gallons of gas. It stopped at 1.4 gallons and I had to top it off. Eight trips were 4 miles or less in stop and go city traffic and three trips were about 15 miles round trip. I live in SF so the city trips were up and down some pretty steep hills. The same trips in our Lexus would have yielded an average of 16mpg. Needlessly to say, I am happy about that.

Re: Finally got one. 09 Altima Hybrid $19499 + tax and dmv fees
My OTD the door price with taxes and registration was about $22,000. I had originally had Capitol One at 5.99% and the dealer got me 4.99% from Wachovia.
I am still getting used to the car shutting off by itself. Feels like the car stalls when you come to a stop. I love the intelligent key feature, the key never has to leave your pocket. Sometimes I forget it's a push button start and stop, I'll catch myself trying to feel for the key in the ignition.
MPG - According the computer I avg. about 31.
Filled up yesterday for the first time. I will post more accurate #'s later.

I drove the NAH a little more aggressive on the streets and on the highway for about 60 miles, and I noticed the gas gauge moving fast. I ended up getting 15mpg! I've gone back to driving it normally and so far I've gone 26 miles and the needle hasn't moved at all. I'll have to drive a full tank to have an accurate mpg figure.

Does that OTD price factor in the tax credit, or no? If not, then you got yourself an amazing deal.

The tax credit lets one reduce a person's tax liability dollar per dollar on the U.S. Federal Tax return subject to AMT. It's unrelated to the OTD price.
Dirito brothers is still offering one base NAH for $19,999.
