Expecting a delivery...

Expecting a delivery...
We took the plunge and ordered a Leaf back in May when the window re-opened. Currently the car is expected at the dealer near the 1st of September. The charging station is set to be installed this Monday.
The Leaf will replace our 2002 Prius which is approaching 160k miles and still running great despite some battle scars on the exterior. We will likely sell the Prius privately.

Our 2005 FEH will handle longer trips, and our small tent trailer. I expect a small uptick in its usage (we currently have less than 60K miles on it after almost 7 years), but the savings on my daily commute will more than offset that.

Re: Expecting a delivery...
We took delivery on August 26th and since then have driven just over 1000 miles. To date we have been able to use the Leaf for pretty much all the driving we would have been using the Prius for. When the charging infrastructure becomes more mature it will be even more flexible...we are starting to see glimmers of how opportunistic level-2 charging can greatly extend range, with the occasional DC fast charge used to bridge further distances.
The car has been perfect so far, handles really well with its low center of gravity, and is whisper quiet.
Economy has been sitting right around 5 miles/Kwh, which includes a significant hill climb between home and work every day.
