Default Beware of Magnetic Grey

This is the color of my new TCH, and this is THE MOST MAINTENANCE INTENSIVE color of vehicle on the face of the earth.

While it is attractive when clean, it is practically impossible to KEEP clean.

After just sitting in your garage for a few days it will look dusty.

And any minor scratch or chip will be magnified 4 times over a color like Desert Sand Mica.

I have never had to dust my car before now to keep it looking clean. I have found that those electrostatic Swiffer dusters do a great job.

Body shops will also tell you that this type of color is one of the hardest to match.

My advice -- do NOT get magnetic grey if any of the following apply to you:

1. You don't wash your vehicle at least weekly

2. You use automated car washes instead of hand washing

3. You live in a particiulary dusty or arid climate, or on the opposite extreme have a lot of rain and snow or mud

4. You have children (I can't over emphasize this one)

5. You have a spouse or other family member who doesn't understand you can't just put things on the car trunk/hood.

6. You have pets who may climb upon the vehicle

7. You follow dump trucks and other construction equipment closely

8. You don't know what a clay bar is

I know what you mean. But I've also had the same trouble with black, blue, red, and green. I am cursed with the tendency to not like colours that look good dirty.

Actually, I don't find Mag Gray bad at all. Sorry it's not working out for you.

Another solution is to stand up straight while looking at it. That's gotta be hard on your back

This is the reason I got Desert Sand Mica! Maybe not as flashy, but does not look too dirty all the time.

Maybe that's why they call it "magnetic" grey.

Titanium (Silver) and Desert Sand (Beige), best two colors on earth for not showing dust.

I'm so glad I decided against the black and went with the titanium. As a (slightly) off-topic note - my TCH is getting the paint protection film and super-hard clear coat as I type.

Interesting - don't you LIKE to keep your nice new car clean, no matter what the color?
